Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a Japanese massage technique that literally means finger pressure. The technique has its roots in Chinese medicine. Pressure is put on certain points of the body with the use of thumbs, palms and underarms. These pressure points are located at energy channels that are going through the human body.

Sometimes our body is suffering from problems or energy blockades. In such cases a shiatsu treatment can bring the body back into balance. The human body has an incredible natural self healing ability. A shiatsu treatment stimulates this natural self healing power. By putting pressure on specific points of the body, blockades are being removed in order to restore the free energy flow through the body.

Shiatsu can also be used very effectively as preventative health care to prevent problems and diseases.

Symptoms that can be treated effectively with shiatsu are:

  • Neck and shoulder problems
  • Back problems
  • Stress, fatigue, burnout
  • Headaches, migraines
  • Tennis Elbow pain
  • Digestive problems
  • Allergies
  • Rheumatic problems

The treatment can be performed on the floor while lying on a futon, a Japanese mattress, or on a massage table.
